Breaking your Dog of the Digging habit.agility dog training

As he is again distracted by
sights, sounds and smells in the
area he will attempt to move
again, repeat the no command when
he begins to rise, again pull back
gently on the collar, this
reinforces the down-stay command.

When your dog gets into a more
comfortable position, usually
lying on his side, it means that
he has accepted the long down.
Once he has accepted this position
for at least 20 minutes each time,
you will begin to extend the time,
until you can trust him completely
to stay in the long down for an
extended period of time.
